Why Did Benito Mussolini Have The Weirdest Speech Gestures?

Besides being an overall weird guy, Mussolini had a penchant for getting a little stabby. He once stabbed a fellow student(maybe not fellow) at a boarding school as a child. Another time he supposedly plunged a knife into the arm of his girlfriend.

Besides that, Mussolini had extremely strange displays of arm gestures and face expressions in his speeches that leaves many even today scratching their heads in wonder.

If you are somehow not convinced that he is the weirdest Italian guy in history, check out this weird as hell effigy of his face Mussolini had created and hung over his headquarters building in 1934.

Mussolini Invades Ethiopia

Benito Mussolini invaded the country of Ethiopia on October 3, 1935 as a show of strength. Ethiopia really? There was a border incident between the country and Somalialand (meaning Somalia and land) which Italy was in control of at the time.

Within six months he captured the capital of Addis Ababa, the Ethiopians were no match for Italy’s modern warfare equipment including tanks and airplanes. Some argue that Mussolini invading Ethiopia meant a show of weakness for the League of Nations.

Mussolini’s Weird Gestures In Speeches

Three are many truths about Italians that are generally accepted to many groupps of people. For instance, Italians eat a lot of pasta. They eat close to 56 pounds per person a year according to the Italian Association of Confectionery and Pasta Industries. Additionally Italians are generally believed to be an expressive people.
