After a Century Land O’ Lakes Removes Indian Woman From Logo

Written by Ryan Prost

The Land O’Lakes Indian maiden, named Mia, holding the butter produced by American farmers on the company’s infamous logo, has received some bad news. After nearly a century the company will no longer display the 1928 illustration by Arthur C. Hanson. The company, based in Arden Hills, Minnesota, United States, is one of the biggest producers of dairy products in the country.

The Minnesota company started in 1921, now serving many homes with butter and other dairy products since its founding. In 2018 the company welcomed its first woman CEO, Beth Ford, who is also one of the few openly homosexual CEOs in Fortune 500 companies.
